Lake Ogascanan Lodge

A Family Legacy Forged In Outfitting

Our family outfitting tradition began in 1964 on Kipawa Lake, with Ken Mullens. In the decades that followed, Ken expanded into remote outpost operations, driven by his sense of adventure and a desire to find high-quality fishing. His son Brad grew up in the business, and learned firsthand that a truly successful outfitting operation begins with the water.

If Brad were to ever have a place of his own, he’d want it to be free from crowds, heavy boat traffic, and other lodges. It should be large enough for the fishery to sustain itself, but not so vast that it becomes overwhelming.

Ogascanan fit these criteria perfectly.

A Family Legacy
Lake Ogascanan Lodge

The story of Lake Ogascanan Lodge begins in 1979. As newlyweds fresh out of university, Brad and Ginny Mullens made their first attempt to purchase the property, though the timing wasn’t right. Nine years later, the opportunity arose once again, and 1989 marked our inaugural season. At the time their sons, Dan and Jeremy, were just eight and five years old. It was difficult to tell at the time what leaked worse: the cabin roofs, or the boats. They made Ogascanan their life’s work, turning what you see above into what you see below.

Today, Dan and Jeremy run the day-to-day operations at the lodge, with help from the rest of the family. Having spent nearly their entire lives at Ogascanan, they are proud to carry our family tradition forward into the future.

Our Commitment to You

Lake Ogascanan Lodge has earned the admiration of anglers across North America. Years of experience have taught us exactly what guests desire from their trip. While we cannot control the weather or the fish, we take immense pride in being hands-on with everything else. Our family is dedicated to providing you with an exceptional experience, and the phenomenally high rate of return among our guests is a testament to all that Ogascanan offers.

We are privileged to still host groups who fished Ogascanan before we owned it – these long-time friends have watched our family grow and have seen our cabins and equipment modernize dramatically over the decades, all while enjoying the same great fishing they’ve come to expect.

“We are incredibly grateful for the old friends and new guests who make up the Ogascanan family. We look forward to welcoming you back to the water, and we invite newcomers to join us for an unforgettable experience.”
