Long before the first lures were cast here, the waters were named Ogascanan (pronounced “Ohgaskanan”) – a word that translates directly to “fish hatchery.” Now, hundreds of years later, the lake continues to live up to its name. Lake Ogascanan Lodge offers you a premier, naturally reproducing fishery with an excellent balance of Walleye, Northern Pike, and Lake Trout. Accessed only by forestry road, and within a restricted access zone, Ogascanan is better protected than many other lakes. At just over 22km in length from inflow to outlet, it provides anglers with far more water than can be fished in 7 days, yet it’s not so large as to be overwhelming. Numerous bays, arms, and fingers give you endless options for targeting fish. Like to work wind-blown humps with jigs and live bait? No problem! Prefer to cast floating stickbaits into flooded marshes for post-spawn Pike? Done deal! Or maybe you’re into probing the depths for the chance at a monster Lake Trout.
